			<description><![CDATA[ I am considering purchasing a 1973 apache mesa for what seems to be a good price. the only problem is that it is needs work on the lift chains. not sure of the
exact problem, but the current owner says there is a problem with the lift chains. should i stay away from this project or is it possible to repair? any advise
or links to lift chain repairs?

			<title><![CDATA[ Bought an Apache Royal ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ I recently sold my almost mint 1975 Apache Mesa and bought a 1975 Airstream. The Airstream needs TLC and we&#39;ve used it 1 time, I plan on keeping it, but
kind of missed my Apache.

This morning i went yard-sale-ing and bought an Apache Royal for $450.00. Its filthy and has has some fiberglass work done on the end caps as well as someone
stuck an AC unit through the rear panel. On the up side its huge compared to my Mesa and the gear boxes seem to work well....but squeaky. It still... ]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[ Chain extrusions ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ Well I figured as long as I had this apart and considering the necessity of proper &#39;lubrication&#39;, and as long as I have it, I cleaned up the extrusions
that are attached to the links and put three coats of silicone glaze auto polish on them. Don&#39;t know if it&#39;ll do any good but figure it can&#39;t hoit.
They are nice and slippery.

			<description><![CDATA[ When I purchased my Ramada the gear boxes were removed and there was one chain hanging out of the gear box

 hole. When I thought I had all the loose chain links out, 56 1/2 links per chain, I began using a mineral spirits soaked rag and wire fish to clean the chain
channels. I would run into snags once in a while with succeeding passes. Low and behold another chain link fell out and a rather scrapped up pop rivet head. My

			<title><![CDATA[ another road cover question - caulk? ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ I have been replacing all the screws in the edge trim around the road cover in anticipation of removing it for some repairs.  I had a lot of caulk in the gap
between the awning rail and the cover on the door side of the camper.  There is staining from caulk around the other 3 sides as well.  After looking at how the
cover is held down by the trim and how it&#39;s edge extends down under the trim it doesn&#39;t appear to me that their should be caulk needed here to prevent

			<description><![CDATA[ I was driving back home from downtown and decided to swing in to a nearby RV store to kill some time.  They were having an end-of-season yard sale so I looked
around and found a couple of bag awnings.  This one was a new 12&#39; Jayco with a nice frame set up that was marked down to $85.  I talked with the owner and
got him down to $75 to close the deal.  He also threw in some additional hardware for free.  Here is a pic of my quick set up when I got home......

Overall I love the thing, it was so nice not to be freezing to death, although I need to figure some stuff out as far as fitment to prevent the wind intrusion.

1. The tops of every bed side panel tend to tilt inward, leaving a gap between the extender covers and the side panel. This allows a lot of wind to blow

			<description><![CDATA[ My name is Dave and I own a &#39;72 Ramada and a &#39;77 Ranger. The Ramada was gutted by the previous owner. It will remodeled with a Route 66 theme. The
Ranger is in great condition and needing only mnor work to the electrical ground to make the lights work properly. I live about an hour southeast of
St.Louis,Mo. We have a rather large campground in town called the World Shooting Complex. It has 1000 campsites and is open year round. I hope to use my Ranger

			<title><![CDATA[ Road cover bow. ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ I have the same issue so many have had with the road cover bowing downward....the wrong way. I&#39;ve also seen the fix using the turnbuckles and rods to draw
the sides of the road cover in and bowing the roof up.

My problem is I&#39;m 6&#39; 1&quot;. As it is it I barely miss scraping the roof as it is. The &#39;drawing rods&#39; would assure my having to stoop just a
bit traveling through the camper. Or just lose more hair than I have already.

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>Well friends, I have sad news. My nearly completely restored 77 Ranger my no longer be with us. A freak storm blew though here today and I lost my road
cover. We don&#39;t get many tornados here, and when we do, they are small, but I&#39;ll bet you this was one. I found the 100+ pieces of my road cover almost
½ mile away. All in one place. And some of the smaller pieces where driven into the side of a hill more then 3&quot; below the ground level.</p>
