Bought an Apache Royal

I recently sold my almost mint 1975 Apache Mesa and bought a 1975 Airstream. The Airstream needs TLC and we've used it 1 time, I plan on keeping it, but kind of missed my Apache.

This morning i went yard-sale-ing and bought an Apache Royal for $450.00. Its filthy and has has some fiberglass work done on the end caps as well as someone stuck an AC unit through the rear panel. On the up side its huge compared to my Mesa and the gear boxes seem to work well....but squeaky. It still...

I have an Apache Ramada and I don't know what I'm going to do with it.
Was going to fix it up and use it for hunting & fishing, but!??!?!?!?
I'm located in the Raleigh, N.C. area and hope someone might be interested in buying or trading.
Guess I've got too many "too do" list to complete this one!?!??
I'm not sure what year or where to find this info.
Any ideas???

First trip out with the Ramada, only some minor problems

Took the 73 Ramada out last week for the deer hunt, had some new issues come up.

Overall I love the thing, it was so nice not to be freezing to death, although I need to figure some stuff out as far as fitment to prevent the wind intrusion.

1. The tops of every bed side panel tend to tilt inward, leaving a gap between the extender covers and the side panel. This allows a lot of wind to blow through, and obviously in the summer months is going to allow mosquito intrusion....

I'm looking at another Apache this weekend. Owner says its a Mesa, but the layout looks a bit different from the pics in the photo section. Looks like the side opposite the door has the standard sink/range and it looks like there is another counter next to it (on the same side extending to the bed). the doorside looks like a Gaucho couch . Did mesa's have a layout like this? The owner and I will get together to look at it this weekend.

I am restoring my 1968 Eagle and need help. After removing the paint (Yikes!) from the Aluminun clam-shell cover i am having trouble finding the right products ( or process) to bring the shine back to the aluninum. I have had some sucsess with a wire wheel but i am affraid i may be damaging the aluminum. I have called a few body shops in the area and can't seem to find any local experts in working with aluminum.

I have been looking at popup campers and the more I look at them, the more I apprecate the way Apaches were built. I looked at an 89 Starcraft and the lift arms were so chintzy compared to the Mesa I used to have, hard to believe. The bed end supports were inferior also.

I'm going to look at a Yuma tomorrow and the pictures seem to show it to about the same size as the Mesa with just a different floor layout? Is that true? Anyone have an idea of the weight of the Yuma?

Ok, our new to us trailer has a lot of flaws and I would like to work them out over time. The Table tops need replacing, and the counter tops need replacing. They have water damage and the particle boars is flaking apart... This is no problem I have done real kitchens a few times. Bed End Window Cracked

Leaking Bed End Windows

We took our 1972 Roamer out this weekend and got caught in heavy rain at times. That's Washington State for you. Both of the bed end windows are leaking. They do not have cracks in the ABS, just leaking around the frames. Can I just clean out the old caulking and re-caulk them or do they need to be removed from the end walls to do this? Are they rivetted to the ABS or do the rivetts just hold the frames together? I could not find the information I need in past articles. What is the...

Gear box and chain repair

I just bought a 1972 Apache Ramada and while cranking it today notice holes in the rear gearbox with plastic pieces falling out.
I read one members posting where this year had plastic gears and newer ones had metal. Through the hole I see what looks like metal.
Can anyone help me with the solution to my problem and advise if I need a gearbox as well as lift chain?

I aquired a foldout tent camper from my neighbor that was moving, and we have used it a couple of times now and it sure gets alot of attention at the campsites. It is a no frills camper by all means, just sleeping arrangement at opposing ends and a table that you can set up between the beds. The only type of markings that are on it is a worn aluminum tag that has "A9ED-02173" Im guessing this is the model and serial number during production. Looking online it resembles the Apache...

OK, this is funny. I am the proud new owner of a 73 Apache Pop Up and we (wife and I) are now fixing and cleaning the new family member up so that we can take our two boy's(7&10) out camping this fall.
Yesterday evening at dinner time we could not locate the youngest one, Daniel...We looked all over and I was getting a bit nervous because it was starting to get a bit dim outside. Looking out the front door I noticed that the light was on inside the camper, and sure enough, here...

Hello,
Where would be the best place to look for an awning with metal stages for my pop up?

Also hocked up my propane tank yesterday evening to see if the stove works, but when turning on the stove burner nothing hap pend (no gas came out). I think it might be the regulator I attach to the propane tank but would love to hear if anyone has a better idea.
